Patrick Davis… Keep on Keepin’ On!
Brittany,
I just wanted to say that I am very proud of you and your desire to keep this
sport as safe as possible. I am also a “gear nazi” and am a total believer in
wearing it all the time. As a tech and offroad enthusiest, I wear gear all the
time. Last summer, I broke my clavical even with all of my gear on. Even though
it was broken, I can’t fathom what would have happened if I didn’t. Thanks to
you and your unfortunate experience, I have learned so much from you, and the
best part of me learning those hard lessons is teaching others about the great
importance of “rocking the gear”. I wish you well, and keep on keepin on!

A Short and Sweet Testimonial from Bob in Kalamazoo
Brittany,
This is why I rock the gear:
March, 2003, Kalamazoo, Michigan - Riding to work in freezing weather but
dry roads. Sand and pea gravel in a left turn let my front wheel
slide from under my Harley Ultra. I had undergone major knee surgery 11 days
before the accident. Slid on pavement on my elbow and knee pads until I
stopped. Got up, got the bike upright and rode the rest of the way to work.
Damage to Ultra was $3k, no damage to me.

Brittany’s story is breath-taking and awesome. It’s a shame she had to go through something so horrific, but at least she is passing it forward to other riders. Education is key. I wrecked my little 250 Rebel on a gravel road going about 20 mph ‘ish and was wearing a helmet, gloves, and riding jacket, but decided to wear shorts instead of jeans . . . I had gravel rash from ankle to hip . . . and a dislocated shoulder from the fall. Rock the Gear ROCKS!

Hey Brittany,
I just wanted to let you know it is wonderful that you are getting the word out
there. I laid my bike down on a set of corners called Snake Road, out here in
Oahu. Had I not been wearing my helmet then I probaly wouldn’t have been alive
today, after my head striking the gaurd-rail with a lot of force. All to often
we see people die simply from not putting a helmet on or not using proper safety
precautions! I just wanted to tell you thank you for what your doing and keep up
the great work!
Rock the Gears Guys! It’s that simple and it’s an easy way to save a life!
Let’s spread the word!

Brittany,
I always wear full leathers, full helmet with face shield, gloves, and
boots when riding, even when I’m really hot. I’ve done trauma nursing for
almost 20 years, and I see what happens to people who skimp on gear. It’s just
not worth it. If your website saves one person from being killed, or from being
injured worse than they otherwise would have been, it is well worth all your
effort.
